Take care out there and best of luck with your job search. Whether you’re looking for something local or remote, there’s something for everyone this week.

you coaching new assistants to balance speed with soft-tissue protection when the software is nudging — I teach a two-count ‘mirror plant’ before every sweep: anchor on attached gingiva, roll the lip, then hover the wand about 1 mm and glid

Quick tip: I tell new assistants ‘finish the lane, then fix the holes’ — do one clean arch pass with firm mirror retraction and a pinky rest, then use the prompts to spot-fill so they’re not chasing green and nicking tissue. If the nudges make them rush, we mute the audio for the first week and time each pass to a slow 3-count per segment; speed catches up once the muscle memory is there. Think GPS: helpful guidance, but you still have to keep your eyes on the road.

For remote triage roles, I get faster callbacks by keeping a one-page resume with my metrics (avg 18 calls/hr, 4-min SOAPs) and EMR names at the top. > apply promptly I keep a templated cover and that metrics resume ready so I can send within 10 minutes, and I list multi-state credentials and time-zone coverage up front to cut back-and-forth. Caveat: some “remote” roles still ask for an on-site day to start, so ask early.

I’ve had good luck filtering by ‘telemedicine’ on the AVMA board (https://jobs.avma.org) and setting daily alerts — landed a remote neuro consult shift in two days… If I’m late to a post, I add a one-liner at the top with time zone and species anesthesia comfort, which still gets callbacks, but some clinics only post in niche FB groups so it turns into a bit of a scavenger hunt.
