We added a 48-hour tech check-in after CHOP doses last month and saw two fewer urgent nausea/diarrhea visits in 3 weeks at our Tulsa oncology service, plus calmer owners when neutrophils dip… Anyone else doing scheduled follow-ups, and do you share a standard triage script or antiemetic protocol to keep caregivers supported between day 1 and day 8?
We do a similar ‘48-hour check-in’ — scheduled text plus a 2‑min call — and send CHOP patients home with maropitant [redacted]/kg q24h x3 days and ondansetron [redacted]/kg q8–12h PRN, which cut our GI walk-ins, too. , neutrophil dips freak owners out, so our script hits appetite, V/D, meds taken, and energy; two red flags = same-day nurse call and CBC or Cerenia injection. Do you ever slide the check to 72h after doxo, or keep it strict at 48?
