Enhancing Clinical Skills in Vet Tech Programs

I’ve been thinking about how important it is to incorporate more hands-on clinical skills training in our vet tech programs. I recently attended a workshop that emphasized practical scenarios over theory, and it really highlighted the difference in student engagement. Have any of you implemented similar approaches in your courses — i’d love to hear how it’s working for you.

I totally agree about hands-on training being crucial. In my courses, we started using role-playing to simulate real-life scenarios, and it definitely boosted engagement. Have you tried any interactive strategies like that?

I hear you! It drives me nuts when programs focus too much on theory without real-world application. In my last class, we introduced asynchronous simulations that let students practice at their own pace, which has helped engagement significantly.
