Truck beds eat gear, — I’d stick with Delmhorst but step up to the FX-2000 head and a 36" heavy‑wall stainless Penn State tube (Nasco) with a replaceable tip, and stash both in a small Pelican so they survive… “State-style probe with a cordless drill and a Delmhorst meter, but I’m open to upgrades” — same here; the biggest accuracy bump in that 12–22% band came from 8–10 cores per lot plus the temp probe and a quick weekly oven check. If you do switch, the AgraTronix handheld reads fine but binds more in stemmy alfalfa than the Delmhorst setup.
