Monitoring anesthesia: What’s your go-to protocol

I’ve been refining our anesthesia protocols lately, especially around monitoring during surgeries. I find the use of capnography invaluable, but I’m curious about what techniques or tools others are using in their practice. Any insights on balancing safety and efficiency would be much appreciated.

I totally get what you’re saying about capnography — it’s like having a backstage pass to the patient’s vital signs. One tool I’ve found helpful is a continuous pulse oximeter; it gives instant feedback, which can really ease the nerves during busy surgeries. Just be sure to keep an eye on the patient’s positioning, or you might as well be watching a show from the back row.
